This course focuses on the dynamic shaping of surface and space for expressive communication with an emphasis on organizational principles in representational, abstract, and non-objective formats. Students give multi-sensory forms to original concepts.

Initial design investigation focusing on the Qualities: Pattern, Texture, Scale, Rhythm, Symmetry.

Black and White Scribble Design
We develop greater control and confidence with line quality, weight, variation, and expressive mark-making while applying composition principles such as cropping, symmetry, and radial symmetry.
